Linacre Reservoir
On a recent sunny bank holiday, I headed off to Linacre Reservoir, which is, in fact, three reservoirs and makes for a very pleasant walk around them. I tried to take some photos which illustrated the scale of the trees and the place as a whole, using the contrasts and patterns cast by the sun through the trees and the ripples on the water. I am particularly pleased with the picture of the tree stump, as I like the textures and marks left by the chainsaw. I love the quirkiness of the carved door in the tree and I love the colours of the blue water and sky and the contrast with the greenery all around. I've taken a couple of black and white ones too, with the pictures looking much more dramatic having been drained of their colour. It was also a bit of a challenge to try to take some shots that were different to your "run of the mill" scenery shots. Here are some of my highlights.
